Tomatoes made using industrial waste heat
Regenergy Frövi uses industrial waste heat from a paper mill, and green electricity to produce vegetables in greenhouses. It will deliver sustainable vegetables, increased circularity and hundreds of local jobs. The first of two greenhouses is 100 000m2 big and will produce 8000 tonnes of tomatoes every year. First harvest 2024.

Impact
In less then a year, about every tenth tomato in Sweden will be sustainably produced in Frövi.
The current food system is broken. It accounts for 1/3 of green house gas emissions and requires massive amounts of water and land.
Regenergy Frövi solves part of this puzzle by producing food in a closed circular system. This contributes to more sustainable food production, avoided emissions and increased self-sufficiency,

Production starts 2024. Industrial-scale sustainable circularity so real you can put it on a pizza.
We're now completing the construction of Regenergy Frövi phase one. Next year, the industrial scale production of sustainable vegetables will start. This facility is only the first of many to come and brings large-scale circular systems out of the realm of possibility and into today’s pressing business and climate needs.

Location
Frövi is located in Lindesberg municipality, Sweden.
